Smt. V. Mamatha, Journalist, came forward to contribute a land for construction of old age and orphanage in admeasuring 36 cents of land atLachapalam Village, Nandigama Mandal , Krishna, Andhra Pradesh, India to Abhayam Society. My father, Late Matcha Seshagiri Rao, was a man of great compassion who always found joy in helping others. Growing up, he instilled in me these same values of kindness and selflessness. Despite being from a middle-class family, my father never let limited resources stop him from making a difference—and neither have I. Inspired by his legacy, I have embarked on a mission to build a haven for the elderly and homeless. I am humbled to share that I have personally acquired the land and borne all the expenses to construct this sanctuary. Located in a serene, pollution-free area away from the city’s chaos, this home is designed to offer not just shelter but also dignity and care. We cultivate our own vegetables, emphasizing sustainability and healthy living. The residents enjoy recreational facilities, and we ensure they have access to immediate medical support during emergencies. What began as a dream has now become a reality, achieved with little outside help but immense edetermination. Yet, I know that together, we can do so much more.
